This year many new prohibitions have been issued in cultural fields. Some of them were well received, such as prohibiting teachers from accepting gifts, while others triggered heated buzz, such as the removal of several US TV shows. Let's have a review.

Smoking may be banned from the small and the big screen, and media workers are welcoming the idea.

影視劇中的吸煙鏡頭應(yīng)該被取締。對(duì)此，媒體工作者們表示歡迎。

According to the website of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council, the Health and Family Planning Committee issued a draft in late November on Regulations on Smoking in Public, which will punish those who show smoking scenes in media platforms, including films, television and the Internet.

In late November, the National Copyright Administration suspended the website of one of the largest fansub groups, YYeTs, and blocked several of its servers. At around the same time, Shooter a popular portal that collects and provides subtitles was also shut down.

Use of Internet slang and non-standardized Chinese on media programs and advertisements will be banned.

使用網(wǎng)絡(luò)語(yǔ)言等非標(biāo)準(zhǔn)國(guó)家通用語(yǔ)言的影視節(jié)目及廣告將被禁止播放。

According to a notice issued in late November by State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, use of words, terms and proverbs and other phrases must follow standardized rules in the Chinese language.

廣電總局11月底發(fā)布一項(xiàng)通知，要求各類廣播電視節(jié)目和廣告必須嚴(yán)格按照規(guī)范寫法和標(biāo)準(zhǔn)含義使用國(guó)家通用語(yǔ)言文字的字、詞、諺語(yǔ)和其他短語(yǔ)。

Sina Internet Information Service Co, one of China's Internet giants, has been suspended from engaging in Internet publication and audio and video dissemination for allegedly running pornographic content online, the National Office Against Pornographic and Illegal Publications said on April 24.

China's press authority has issued rules to tighten management on information including state secrets received by journalists during their work.

國(guó)家新聞管理機(jī)構(gòu)頒布有關(guān)加強(qiáng)信息管理的規(guī)定，內(nèi)容包括加強(qiáng)管理新聞從業(yè)人員涉及國(guó)家機(jī)密的行為。

Journalists are banned from illegal copying, recording, or storage of state secrets, according to the rules released by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television on June 30.

Education commission bans primary, middle school rankings

北京市教委叫停中小學(xué)評(píng)選排名

The Beijing Commission of Education released a notice in May, requiring that any exam to gain a certificate or any academic competition for primary and middle school students should be cancelled, and that any ranking of schools is forbidden, no matter whether it is organized by organizations or individuals, Beijing Times reported.

據(jù)京華時(shí)報(bào)報(bào)道，5月北京市教育委員會(huì)發(fā)布通知稱，北京市將取消針對(duì)中小學(xué)生的各類等級(jí)證書考試和學(xué)科競(jìng)賽活動(dòng)。同時(shí)，禁止中小學(xué)參與任何組織或個(gè)人舉辦的針對(duì)學(xué)校的各種評(píng)選排名。
