1.數(shù)值大與小的比較
在同時(shí)期比較兩個(gè)事物的數(shù)值時(shí),例如,表達(dá)A大B小,常常用表示對(duì)比的連詞while將兩句話連接起來(lái),并且在while后面的B事物前加上muchmore或者much less一類的比較級(jí),以突出B的小,跟A做對(duì)比。例如:
Lamb and chicken were eaten in similar quantities (around150grams), whilemuch less fish was consumed (justover50grams).

或者B事物前加用only來(lái)表示數(shù)值很小,又例如:
…nuclear power,..., had developed into the main source, producing almost75% of electricity, at 126 units, while coal and oil together produced only 50units.

2.增長(zhǎng)與減少的比較
這也是段落內(nèi)部十分常見(jiàn)的對(duì)比方式。先描述A下降或上升了,然后用while或者類似的連詞連接后面的B上升或下降了;同時(shí),這種比較也適用于段落之間,比如正文的一個(gè)主體段寫(xiě)A,B和C都上升了,下一個(gè)主體段寫(xiě)D下降了。需要注意的是,如果是段落間的比較,則不適合用while,而應(yīng)該用Incontrast, Conversely, on the other hand一類表示意群對(duì)比的句首詞。例如:
The consumption of chicken, on the other hand, showed an upward trend,…

在雅思寫(xiě)作學(xué)習(xí)當(dāng)中,最好的方法是以簡(jiǎn)單句為基礎(chǔ),配合適當(dāng)?shù)牟⒘芯浜蛷?fù)雜句。簡(jiǎn)單句可長(zhǎng)可短,通常要加些附屬成分,如分詞短語(yǔ)、介詞短語(yǔ)、副詞短語(yǔ)、不定式動(dòng)詞短語(yǔ),以及節(jié)縮成分。總之,雅思寫(xiě)作技巧作者可根據(jù)情況,使句子多樣化,使文章靈活多姿。例如下列五個(gè)句子的基本概念一樣,但是句式不同,內(nèi)容重點(diǎn)也有些差別:

(4) There were goats grazing peacefully in the farm, unaware of theapproaching hunter. (簡(jiǎn)單句+形容語(yǔ)短語(yǔ))
(5) As the goats grazed peacefully in the farm, they were unaware of theapproaching hunter. (原因副詞從句+主句)
(1)和(5)的句式最常見(jiàn);如果加上其他三種互相交替,句子不是更多樣化嗎?最后,看看這兩個(gè)句子要怎樣多樣化呢?

在上述12個(gè)句子中,(a)-(g)是簡(jiǎn)單句;(h)是并列句;(i)-(l)是復(fù)雜句。簡(jiǎn)單句除(b)和(g)之外,其他五樣,用的人并不多。人們最喜歡采用復(fù)雜句,尤其是(j)和(k)這兩款;接著便是并列句(h)。如果大多數(shù)人的句子只限于(b),(g),(h), (j)和(k)這五種,而其他的則棄如敝屣,不是很可惜。
