1. Do you often write things?
Yes, I write all the time. I write when I answer questions, when I send e-mails, when I write letters to relatives. Each thing that I write gives me the chance to improve my writing. I do not take spelling or grammatical shortcuts, because that obfuscates good writing.
我經(jīng)常寫東西。答題的時(shí)候我需要寫，發(fā)郵件的時(shí)候需要寫，給親戚寫信的時(shí)候也需要寫。每個(gè)我需要寫的東西都能給我一次練習(xí)寫字的機(jī)會(huì)。我不使用拼寫和語法上的捷徑(縮寫，簡寫)，那會(huì)把好的寫作搞得很不清楚。
2. Do you usually write by hand or write using a computer?
I prefer writing on the computer rather than writing by hand. Though I do enjoy journal writing with pen and colored pencils from time to time, I have always “pooh-poohed” the people who say the pen is more directly connected to the brain than the keyboard.
比起手寫，我更喜歡用電腦。雖然我有時(shí)候確實(shí)喜歡用鋼筆或彩筆寫日記，但我很鄙視那些堅(jiān)稱“用筆寫東西比用鍵盤更能直接抒發(fā)思想”的人。
3. Do you think computers might one day replace handwriting?
No, I think we will always write by hand. I think it’s an important skill, and schools will continue to teach children to write by hand before they learn to type.
不。我認(rèn)為我們會(huì)一直用手寫的。這是一個(gè)重要技能，學(xué)校也會(huì)在孩子們學(xué)習(xí)打字前繼續(xù)教他們手寫的。
4. How can children today improve (or, practice) their handwriting?
Practice makes perfect. Have them trace a model. Let them treat it like homework and spend 30 minutes or more everyday working on it, at first. Besides, parents and teachers should encourage them to slow down when handwriting assignments.
熟能生巧。讓他們臨摹字帖。一開始就讓他們把練字當(dāng)成作業(yè)去完成，每天花上半個(gè)小時(shí)或更多時(shí)間去做這件事。除此之外，家長和老師要鼓勵(lì)孩子們在手寫作業(yè)時(shí)放慢速度。
5. What impression does a person's handwriting have on other people?
Handwriting is or should be very important to people. Maybe when we see extremely tiny handwriting, we may think of the person as mouse like, sometimes shy, or he could also be obsessive compulsive, or meticulous in nature.
手寫對(duì)人們來講或許是非常重要的。也許我們看到很小的字體，會(huì)認(rèn)為這個(gè)人膽小羞怯，有時(shí)靦腆，又或者這個(gè)人有強(qiáng)迫癥或天生謹(jǐn)小慎微。
