I would say police officer is the most important job to a city, though they do not really get paid that much, what they do is very essential to the community. First, they prevent law-breaking behaviors, like robbery, burglary, and even speeding. For example, they usually help parents find their lost children and save a lot of families. Plus, police officer also solves problems in our daily life. For instance, they would act as an intermediary in the dispute among neighbors. That is basically why I think police is the most important job among these three professions.

2. Which technology has made the greatest impact on people’s life in your country: airplane, computer or television?

　　In my opinion, computer has made the greatest influence on people's life in my country. First of all, it is one of the best communication tools. In the past, if we wanted to chat with somebody faraway, we would have to write a letter, mail it out and wait for the person to mail his/hers back. However, we can write an email now instead and it just takes a few seconds to send it to the person. Secondly, it helps people a lot in their work. For example, they can make PowerPoint and give a presentation using the computer. Also, they can have a business meeting with a company oversea via the video chat software.To sum up, computer affects people's life a lot in my country.

3. If you have an opportunity to go to a free class during the weekend，which of the following would you choose to go to public speaking, starting your own business, or photography and why? Please include details and examples in your explanation.

Personally，I would choose to take a class on public speaking because speaking in public is such an important skill both at school and at work. For example，my professors often require us to make presentations in front of everyone in class. However, I can’t speak fluently as usual and I forgot what I would speak sometimes. So I need to practice the skill of speaking in public. And I believe that a good expression of speaking in public will make a good impression on my boss and my coworkers. That’s why I would like to choose the class on public speaking.

4. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Playing computer or video games has a negative influence on teenagers.

Response:

Personally speaking, I agree with the point that playing computer or video games is harmful for teenagers. First, teenagers will have less time focusing on their study if they spend too much time on playing computer or video games. They are too young to have the ability tobalance their time between studying and playing. Second, playing computer games for too long affect teenagers’ health negatively. Many teenagers are short-sighted, and computer games should be responsible. It is reported that some teenagers even died because of playing computer games too much.

5. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The way people dress themselves reveals their personality.

Response:

Personally, I believe that people dress themselves reveals their personality. I have a few reasons to name. Fist, people wearing dark colors tend to be traditional and quiet. On the contrary, people with bright colors are usually open-minded and straight-forward. Furthermore, people who wear formally are detail-oriented and have a serious attitude, while people in jeans and shirts are more casual and easy-going. For example, people wear suits on important events such as business meetings and weddings in order to express their professional and formal attitude toward the event. All in all, I think how people dress reveals their personality.

6. When it comes to decision making, do you prefer to take account to of other people’s ideas or make the decision entirely on your own? Explain why. Please include details and examples in your explanation.

Response:

Personally, I prefer to take other people’s advice into consideration when I make a decision, because I can’t see the problem comprehensively when I’m trying to analyze the issue. For instance, last year I was deciding whether I should study abroad in the near future. I thought it would cost me a lot of money and there would be a big challenge that I would face the life aloneabroad. However, after talking with my professors and friends who all studied abroad before, I realized that there would be a lot of opportunities not just for my career, but also for my life in general. In the end, I decided to go for it after hearing different advices from others.
