You are admitted to two universities at the same time. One is prestigious but has a high tuition and the other is not but gives you a scholarship. Which would you go to and why?

I will choose the prestigious one for sure. Firstly, I think prestige can provide me extra value besides academic aspect, like the recognition from employers and the resource from alumnus, which are not readily achieved from an unknown university；Also, prestigious universities always attract more events to held on campus which can broaden my view and offer me more choices about life.And the most important is that there are countless approaches to get help for tuition better than scholarship, I can take mortgage from banks or borrow some money from parents. I do not want to limited myself on tuition, for tuition is just a present problem and I want to focus on long term benefit from the reputation of a university.

I would like to choose hiking club. Because I was born and grown up in Dalian, and Dalian gets Hiking Festival since my childhood. Secondly, my professor, who not only helped me on academia but also guided me on each steps of my life, is fond of hiking a lot. When I was in university, I always hiked with him and my fellow students, almost each weekend, and such experience was unforgettable and such habit is still kept till now.

I would like to be an actress. Since there are many actors and actress I admire, like Kris Wu and Emma Stone; I want to cooperate with them in movies and make friends with them. I want to try to understand their jobs, their moods and their lives. All in all, I want to become an actress because of my idles. Also, it will be much easier to establish business as a prestigious person than a unknown person, such as an actress. Like Zhao Wei, her early career as an actress helped her accumulated wealth and friendship with some investors, and now she owns several companies and workshops not only for making fortune but also for charity.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: parent should decide their children’s career? Explain why. Please include details and examples in your explanation.

I would never agree with such idea, firstly because my parents hardly give me any advice on my choice, neither study nor career; if one's career should be decided by parents, I am afraid I would get no job. Seriously speaking, nobody would choose his or her career before being an adult, and an adult should have got the ability of rational thinking and choice making; career choosing is one of the most important choices in one's life, and this decision should not be made by somebody else but oneself.
