托福寫作分論點1：loss of communication skills

To begin with, indulging oneself in chatting with each other online may cause the gradual degradation of communication skills. Specifically speaking, interaction through social media or with text messages is different from talking with each other in the real world. This is because when people chat online, they just focus on words rather than other key elements like facial expression, body languages and even tone, which play a significant role in daily communication. Hence, if too much time is allocated to keep in touch with others by technology, people will finally forget the proper way of face to face communication. For example, salesmen need to demonstrate their new products in a vivid way and with cordial smiles and eyes to persuade customers to buy their products. If not, consumers will not be reluctant to stay in their shops, not mention to purchase.

托福寫作分論點2:  exert negative effects on people’s work and life

In addition, spending too much time on communication by technology poses a negative effect on people’s work and study. Putting the convenience that the social media brings aside, currently, the fact that people overly depend on interacting through the social media or text messags are really troubling. It greatly decreases work efficiency and productivity. Without strong self-descipline ability, people are easily distracted by various pieces of gossips and news when they are working. Thus, they might procrastinate, make mistakes, work overtime or even stay up late, resulting in a vicious circle and bad quality of work. It is the same situation for students, instead of concentrating on their academic study, numerous students spend a large amount of time in following the latest news of their friends in the social media or glance over some events listed on line. Definitely, time which should have used for absorbing and reviewing knowledge is wasted by those seemingly advanced way of interaction.
