雅思口語：人物類沿用話題之聰明的人

我們都知道每年的1、5、9月是季，很多學生往往在這一階段就會很恐慌，認為之前的努力全都白費了。其實不然，每次變題都會很大部分保留之前的雅思話題，并且我們要學會靈活地去串題，比如本季度新增人物類話題較多，加上沿用，差不多有10個話題，但是我們不需要去準備十個不同的回答(除非你的語言水平已經(jīng)很高)，很多話題經(jīng)過分析其實都可以合并在一起，比如：聰明的人+外語好的人+樂于助人的人+助你實現(xiàn)目標的人+喜歡一起學習工作的人，都可以合并成一個話題。

但是要注意每個側(cè)重點要略微不同，一定不要讓考官有串題的嫌疑，所以在表述的時候一定要流暢自然，不斷點題。

Describe someone who speaks a foreign language well (New)

You should say:

• Who this person is

• What kind of foreign language this person speaks

• How often does this person use this language

• Why you think this person speaks this foreign language well/why this person could speak so well

Describe someone who encouraged you to achieve a goal (New) You should say:

• Who this person is

• How you knew about this person

• What this person encouraged you to do

• And explain why this encouragement helped you to achieve the goal

Describe a person who often helps others (New)

You should say:

• Who the person is

• How often this person helps others

• How he helps others

• And explain why this person like to help others

Speaking of someone intelligent, I have to mention my twin sister Lan, who is a PhD student studying mathematics in America.

Of course, we’ve known each other for our lifetimes since we were in our mother’s tummyJ.

She showed a sign of being smarter than her peers when she was just in kindergarten for always being the first one to speak out correct answers about some elementary arithmetic while I was still counting with my fingers.

Not only in math, she’s also smart in other aspects. Like playing Mah-jong, for a six-year-old girl, she could already figure out and grasp a set of complex rules and tricks by just observing others’ playing, which was impossible for me.

She’s like those geniuses in Big Bang Theory, having PhD in some area, talking something we don’t follow. She is so obsessed with math, which is the reason why she chose math as her major both in undergraduate and phD phase. By the way, she skipped master because of her excellence in the performance. What’s more, she also works as TA teaching undergraduates calculus.

As an elder sister, I feel quite proud of her. Though she’s really intelligent, she’s definitely the most diligent person I’ve ever seen. Instead of playing with our smartphones, the way she finds relaxing is spending time in the library, reading or meditating. Sometimes I wonder if I had worked as hard as she did, I could have at least been to Ivy League.

Now we are separated in two hemispheres. She’ll come back every year or every two years. I really miss her a lot.
