常見的引入讓步的詞匯有:admittedly, although, even though, while, however, yet, despite等。
At the accelerated rate of the intensified competition in the modern society, most universities are paying increasing attention to cultivate student in an-around way besides the fundamental academic education. As far as I'm concerned, taking public speaking courses before graduation is extremely advantageous to the seniors by providing them with improved communication skill, more job opportunities and a sense of confidence.
First and foremost, having public speaking courses provides students with a priceless chance to concentrate on improving their ability of communication, which is beneficial to them to enlarge their social network. In other word, without being taught professionally, students will continuously come across some trouble in expressing their own ideas. Take myself as an example. I attended a minor course on communication skill during my freshman year. In this class, I could talk in front of others publicly without worrying the mistake will affect my academic record. And other students of this class properly who have the same anxieties as I felt gave me appropriate tips. As a result, I could express my ideas clearly in actual class and acquire a valuable companionship with others. Therefore, to strengthen the communication skill is essential for students for their interpersonal relationship.
What is more, for senior students, the higher speaking level they possess, the more jobs opportunities they could acquire. As we all know, in the more complicated society, the employers tend to believe that a person with the quality of getting along with colleagues well can have a better performance in their jobs, as teamwork is strongly required in a large number of projects and missions. For example, my sister Lisa, who is skilled in contacting with others, became a CEO in her company just in one year. When the group encountered some divergences or arguments, she could help others analyze and find out the major problems. Consequently, she obtained the trust and respect of all employees and led the company to achieve a great success. Thus, in some situations, the excellent speaking level can have positive effect on one's career path.
Admittedly, some claim that it might be too strict for seniors who already have a variety of other trivial matters to deal with in their last year to spend fixed time complete this compulsory class. However, in my opinion, it can be solved properly. Universities can change the traditional class into an on-line class, which can enhance students study efficiency as they can study at home. In addition, teachers can assign more flexible and interesting work to them in order to reduce their heavy burden, including trying to communicating with a stranger or having a presentation about their daily life. And the benefits on learning communication could be also acquired in this way.
In conclusion, it might be true that having a mandatory speaking class in senior year would have some drawbacks for students. However, above all, we can conclude that students can derive more benefits from it.
轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)聯(lián)詞像however、on the other hand、yet都能體現(xiàn)出緊密的邏輯。
