介詞短語在新托福閱讀中應(yīng)該是屬于虛詞一類，似乎遠不如實詞那么舉足輕重，其實不然，介詞短語在閱讀中起著非常重要的作用，知道介詞的一些常規(guī)用法對于閱讀速度的提高有很大的幫助。本文為考生們介紹托福閱讀介詞短語使用技巧。

一、帶-ing詞尾的介詞

barring：except，not including　除....外

concerning：about，regarding　論及，關(guān)于

excepting=except

failing：in default of　因缺少...;在缺少...時

following：after in time;as a sequel to　在....以后

including：if we include　如果包括我;......包括在內(nèi)

pending：during/until　在.....期間/直到.....為止
