1. Loose 和 lose
錯(cuò):I always loose the product key。

2. It's 和 its (嚴(yán)格拼寫是 its') 【】
錯(cuò):Download the HTA, along with it's readme file。
對(duì):Download the HTA, along with its readme file。
錯(cuò):The laptop is overheating and its making that funny noise again。
對(duì):The laptop is overheating and it's making that funny noise again。
3. They're 和 their 和 there
錯(cuò):The managers are in they're weekly planning meeting。
對(duì):The managers are in their weekly planning meeting。
錯(cuò):The techs have to check there cell phones at the door, and their not happy about it。
對(duì):The techs have to check their cell phones at the door, and they're not happy about it。
4. i.e. 和 e.g
錯(cuò):Use an anti-spyware program (i.e., AdAware)。
對(duì):Use an anti-spyware program (e.g., AdAware)。
注:i.e. 意為“that is”;e.g. 意思是 “for example。” 二者后面都要加逗號(hào)。
5. Effect 和 affect
錯(cuò):The outage shouldn't effect any users during work hours。
對(duì):The outage shouldn't affect any users during work hours。
對(duì):The outage shouldn't have any effect on users。
對(duì):We will effect several changes during the downtime。
注:Impact 不是動(dòng)詞。你可以考慮用 affect 來代替:
錯(cuò):The outage shouldn't impact any users during work hours。
對(duì):The outage shouldn't affect any users during work hours。
對(duì):The outage should have no impact on users during work hours。
6. You're 和 your
錯(cuò):Remember to defrag you're machine on a regular basis。
對(duì):Remember to defrag your machine on a regular basis。
錯(cuò):Your right about the changes。
對(duì):You're right about the changes。
7. Different than 和 different from
錯(cuò):This setup is different than the one at the main office。
對(duì):This setup is different from the one at the main office。
對(duì):This setup is better than the one at the main office。
8. Lay 和 lie
錯(cuò):I got dizzy and had to lay down。
對(duì):I got dizzy and had to lie down。
對(duì):Just lay those books over there。
9. Then 和 than
錯(cuò):The accounting department had more problems then we did。
對(duì):The accounting department had more problems than we did。
注:當(dāng)一個(gè)句子以 If 開頭時(shí),你并不需要接著來一個(gè) then,Then 完全是多余的:
錯(cuò):If you can't get Windows to boot, then you'll need to call Ted。
對(duì):If you can't get Windows to boot, you'll need to call Ted。
10. Could of, would of 和 could have, would have
錯(cuò):I could of installed that app by mistake。
對(duì):I could have installed that app by mistake。
錯(cuò):I would of sent you a meeting notice, but you were out of town。
對(duì):I would have sent you a meeting notice, but you were out of town.
這十組詞匯看上去簡(jiǎn)單,但實(shí)際運(yùn)用確實(shí)發(fā)現(xiàn)很多學(xué)生誤用和混用,大家要分清楚這些“雙胞胎”詞匯,在以后的考試中才不會(huì)混淆。
