上期我們講了如何用英文談?wù)撟∷�，比如如何回答考官的以下�?wèn)題：“Where do you live?” “Could you please describe the place where you live?”。今天我們一起來(lái)談下: What do you like or dislike about your home? What would you change if you could?
表達(dá)對(duì)家的喜歡可以用到的詞匯有：spacious(large with lots of rooms), cozy(comfortable in a warm, welcoming way), light(a home with lots of natural light), warm(comfortable in winter), cool(comfortable in summer), convenient(close to your job, shops, children’s school)。比如可以說(shuō)It’s convenient for my office或者it’s convenient for the subway。但是如果你不喜歡自己的家，可以用到以下詞匯：cramped(small without enough room), dark(does not get much natural light), drafty(lets in cold air in the winter), stuffy(uncomfortable and airless in the summer), noisy. 完整的表達(dá)可以是：“My home is light and spacious, but it can get very drafty in the winter. 或者可以說(shuō)：“I like my apartment because it’s cozy, although it can get noisy, because there’s a restaurant just downstairs.” 還可以加入哪些描述住所的內(nèi)容呢?我們可以試著談?wù)剋ho you live with. Do you live by yourself, or do you live with your parents or friends? 比如我們可以說(shuō)：“I live with my parents.” “I live in a shared house. I have four flatmates.” “I live by myself.”
再來(lái)看看可以加入什么別的信息，比如talking about your neighborhood. 首先注意，neighborhood不是一個(gè)人，而是the area near your home. 所以，你家在哪呢?Is it in the city center, or in the suburbs, or outside the city? 如果是住在城外，do you live on the outskirts of the city, in a village, or in the middle of nowhere? 還有你的neighborhood是quiet or lively? Trendy or boring? 有沒(méi)有很多的shops, cafes, bars和restaurants? 有沒(méi)有parks or sports facilities? 比如，我們可以說(shuō)：“I live in a very lively area just south of the city center. There are lots of cafes, shops, and places to go.” 或者說(shuō)：“I live in a quiet neighborhood in the suburbs, in the north of the city. It’s a new area, and it’s nice but also quite boring. There isn’t really anything to do.”
好了，整合一下上面信息我們可以給出以下回答：“I live in a two-storey terraced house. It has two bedrooms, a living room, a small kitchen and a garden. It’s cozy and convenient for getting to work, but it’s a bit cramped, especially when we have guests. I live with my wife and daughter. Our house is near the city center, in a quiet neighborhood. There isn’t much to do, but there are some small shops and a park where we go if the weather’s nice.” 或者也可以說(shuō)：“I live by myself in a studio apartment. It just has one main room, with a tiny kitchen. It’s very warm in winter, but it can get a bit stuffy in summer. I live in the city center, very close to everything. It’s very lively, with lots of bars and restaurants. It’s a good place for young people to live, but not many families choose to live here.”
