(Mispronunciation)
First and foremost it is mispronunciation of single phonemes or sounds. Have a look at some of our previous posts for some help on this. Every nationality has different problems due to their first language. Some can’t pronounce TH, some over pronounce S and others miss out any consonant on the end of a word.
Tip: Find out what problems you have and work on them.
單詞音節(jié)重讀
(Word stress)
這聽(tīng)起來(lái)很基礎(chǔ)但很多考生無(wú)法準(zhǔn)確掌握單詞中哪個(gè)音節(jié)應(yīng)該重讀。常常因?yàn)殄e(cuò)誤的重讀位置導(dǎo)致把名詞發(fā)音成動(dòng)詞,或者聽(tīng)起來(lái)像中文。
This sounds basic but not everyone learns the right stress for every word in class. If you stress the wrong part you may change the word from a noun to a verb or even make it sound like a foreign word…. or just be completely misunderstood!
Tip: Ask a native or a good English speaker to listen to you and correct your word stress. Otherwise, check online or with a paper dictionary.
句子重讀
(sentence stress)
句子中的重點(diǎn)詞要重讀。通常是句子主干的名詞和動(dòng)詞。比如我想說(shuō)“我要買(mǎi)鞋”,單說(shuō)“買(mǎi)鞋”對(duì)方就知道了。
This is where you add stress to the important word(s) in a sentence. We normally stress verbs and nouns because they are the important words. For example, you would understand BOUGHT SHOES even without the other words.
要達(dá)到六分以上,就要變換重讀的部分來(lái)表達(dá)或強(qiáng)調(diào)不同的意思。
A very good student (6分以上) will know how to change stress to give different meaning, like this:
例如:
I bought some shoes.
=He didn’t borrow, steal or sell them
I bought some shoes.
=Emphasises the speaker and is common where lots of people are speaking.
Tip: Focus on transferring meaning by adding minor and major stress.
語(yǔ)音語(yǔ)調(diào)
這方面是國(guó)人較弱的環(huán)節(jié)。那就認(rèn)個(gè)死理:句子末尾降調(diào),問(wèn)句結(jié)尾升調(diào)。
Intonation is another pronunciation skill that is often forgotten about. Although it differs across English, it is best to go down at the end of a sentence for a statement but up at the end for a question.
Tip: Practise making longer and more complicated sentences using varied stress
結(jié)論
(Conclusion)
別讓發(fā)音影響了你的口語(yǔ)分?jǐn)?shù)。不僅要讓考官聽(tīng)懂,同時(shí)要準(zhǔn)確的掌握重讀和語(yǔ)調(diào)。因此英語(yǔ)里常說(shuō):“IT’S NOT WHAT YOU SAY, BUT HOW YOU SAY IT”
Don’t let your pronunciation reduce your band score. It’s not enough just to be understood. You need to use stress and intonation to convey meaning/be properly understaood. That’s where the saying IT’S NOT WHAT YOU SAY, BUT HOW YOU SAY IT comes from.
以上就是小編為大家精心整理的文章,下半年的雅思大戰(zhàn)仍在如火如荼,雅思寫(xiě)作是雅思聽(tīng)說(shuō)讀寫(xiě)四項(xiàng)中的難點(diǎn),同學(xué)們一定要勤加練習(xí)才能拿高分哦!
