看童話故事《灰姑娘》高效學英語

對于許多英語的初學者們來說，英語當中繁雜的語法知識，綿綿不斷的詞匯是非常枯燥的。很多人都試過投入很多時間，但是到頭脹近吐的階段，也沒有多大提升，還落下了見語法詞匯生拒或恨的逆反情感。

真的沒有更“性價比”高的方法么?

有。比如看看童話故事，學習英語語法和詞匯。

格林童話和安徒生故事，相信很多人都不會陌生。皇帝的新裝，賣火柴的小女孩，灰姑娘，白雪公主和七個小矮人等等，都是我們陪著我們的童年，耳熟能詳的故事。只是，我們大多看的是中文版。為何不嘗試讀讀英文版呢?

比如下面這段從《Cinderella》灰姑娘節(jié)選的英文：

Once upon a time, there was a widower 1 who married a proud and haughty woman as his second wife. She had two daughters, 2 who were equally vain and selfish. By his first wife, he'd had a beautiful young daughter, a girl of unparalleled goodness and sweet temper. The stepmother and her daughters forced the first daughter into servitude, where she was made to work day and night in menial chores. After the girl's chores were done for the day, she would retire to the barren and cold room given to her, and would curl up near the fireplace in an effort to stay warm. She would often arise covered in cinders, giving rise to the mocking nickname "Cinderella". Cinderella bore the abuse patiently and dared not tell her father, since his wife controlled him entirely.

處處是知識點。

1和2在 語法上是定語從句，修飾人。同時形容詞“proud and haughty”傲慢自大”vain and selfish”虛榮自私，讀著朗朗上口。

“a girl of unparalleled goodness and sweet temper.”是“of +名詞” 作為形容詞的語法，比如“a man of humor”意思是有幽默的男人。

“servitude, where”這里也是個定語從句，用“where”引導的說地點的定語從句，“servitude”是勞役，類似”labor”。Where 后面的句子補充說灰姑娘工作的內容。

“after”表之后，時間狀語。

“since”表原因，原因狀語。

文章中多處為過去時，“By his first wife, he'd had a beautiful young daughter”這里用的是過去完成時，講的是在第一任妻子(在第二任之前)，就有了一個美麗年輕的女兒。

A queen sits sewing at an open window during a winter snowfall when she pricks her finger with her needle, causing three drops of blood dripping into the freshly fallen snow on the black windowsill. Soon after that, the queen gives birth to a baby girl who is as white as snow, as red as blood, and with hair as black as ebony. They name her 'Snow White', but sadly, the queen dies after giving birth to her.
